Atlantic Beach fishing pier closes (News 14 Carolina)ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. -- Time to reel 'em in and pack up the tackle. Another of North Carolina's fishing piers is closing. Sportsmen's Pier is open Friday for the last time. The Atlantic Beach landmark has operated for 50 years, but now the property will be used for new homes.
