New rules require new equipment for state fishermen (Naples Daily News)Anglers heading into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend, will have to pack some new equipment in their tackle boxes. New rules go into effect Sunday that require anyone fishing from a boat in state waters off the Florida Gulf coast to use circle hooks, dehooking devices and venting tools when fishing for reef fish. The rules already apply in federal waters, further than nine nautical miles offshore.
