Fishing report (Contra Costa Times)PACIFIC OCEAN Craig Stone of Emeryville Sportfishing said the first giant squid trip out of Emeryville was a huge success. On Saturday, the New Salmon Queen finished with 180 giant squid to 50 pounds for its 19 anglers aboard, fishing up around Cordell Banks. The average squid was reported at about 40 pounds. Squid Jigs were the ticket, and most of the action was about 20 feet under the boat.
